Declaração de Acessibilidade
Última atualização: 14 de outubro de 2025

Our Commitment

At Stroke Social we are committed to making our website — www.strokesocial.je — accessible and usable for everyone, including people with disabilities.

We want every visitor to be able to browse our site with ease and enjoyment, using the tools and technologies that suit them best.

What Web Accessibility Means

An accessible website allows people with a wide range of abilities to use it comfortably. This includes visitors who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, speech recognition software, or alternative input devices.

Accessibility Adjustments on This Site

We have built and tested this website in line with the Wix Web Accessibility Tool, and we aim to meet Level AA compliance.

To achieve this, we have:

  • Used clear and consistent heading structures on all pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Ensured color contrast meets WCAG standards

  • Set the site language and reading order for assistive technologies

  • Designed pages for easy keyboard navigation

  • Minimized the use of animation or motion

  • Tested forms and interactive features for screen reader compatibility

We are continually reviewing and improving accessibility features to maintain a positive experience for all users.

Partial Compliance

Some content on our website may originate from third parties (for example, embedded videos or external resources). While we aim for full accessibility, we may not have control over these elements.

We therefore declare partial compliance with WCAG 2.1 for pages containing third-party content.

Accessibility in Our Events and Community

We are also committed to accessibility in our in-person socials and community events. Whenever possible, we:

  • Choose accessible venues with step-free entry and accessible toilets

  • Offer assistance with seating or access arrangements

  • Welcome carers, companions, and support workers

  • Provide information in accessible formats upon request

If you have any specific accessibility needs, please let us know when registering so we can make suitable arrangements.

Requests, Issues, and Suggestions

We welcome feedback on accessibility and are always looking to improve.

If you encounter any accessibility issues on our site or require assistance, please contact our accessibility coordinator:

Accessibility Coordinator: Dr Shyam Pralhad Kelavkar (interim)
Email: strokesocial.je@gmail.com

We aim to respond to all accessibility-related messages within 10 working days.

Ongoing Effort

Accessibility is an ongoing priority for StrokeSocial.je. As our website and community grow, we will continue to review and enhance accessibility to ensure everyone can take part fully.
